Natural Ways to Boost Your Immune System – Aakash Mishra

Because of the Pandemic, we all have realized the importance of good health, eating nutrient-dense food, and living an active life.

The Covid-19 has not done any damage to us if we are ready to accept and realize our chronic mistakes and harm done to our internal health.

Any outside disease bacteria or virus can not harm or attack us until we have strong T-Cell (Immune Cell) production.

Covid-19 has made us realize again that the best Doctor or let’s say medicine is provided to us by Nature God.

So let me connect you with nature from which we get the best immunity booster –

  • Vitamin D:

The best Source of medicine we get from nature is Sunlight …… yes, yes, yes I know you already know that we get Vitamin D from Sunlight so let me tell you some interesting facts about Vitamin D.

Vitamin D supports the immune system and helps T-Cell formation, one study also suggests that having deficient in Vitamin D leads to a decrease in the functioning of the Lungs.

  • Vitamin C:

Vitamin C, or ascorbic acid, is a water-soluble vitamin well known for its role in supporting a healthy immune system.

Vitamin C deficiency results in impaired immunity and higher susceptibility to infections.

As our body can’t make Vitamin C, we need to take food that is high in Vitamin C

Such as tomatoes, potatoes, strawberries, green and red bell peppers, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, and kiwifruit.

  • Breathing:

Breathing is something which we never focused on, it won’t be wrong if I say we only use less than 20 % of our lungs to breath, and here another source of medicine from nature comes to heal you, oxygen is important for each and every tissue of our body including heart and brain. It’s important for us to keep our lungs fully function at the time of pandemic where the virus affects the lungs, a 30 minutes good workout session and yoga especially Pranayama “Anulom-Vilome” can be a game-changer.

  • Hydration:

Then next comes Water, imagine if you are dehydrated, what have to you when your body which is made of almost 60-70 % of water, your brain, heart, lungs, liver, and kidneys typically contain a lot of water, and now it’s easy to get an infection from outside if the body is under a crisis of fluid.

  • Gut Health:

Now let me take you to the place in your body where 70 % of the immune system relies on.

Your gut plays a very important role to keep you healthy from the inside and fight outside infection, at lockdown, you feel that you will have a good time with your family and have outside food, alcohol, and other beverages. Let me tell you some facts about ingredients used in the food you order from outside, refined flour, reused oil for fry, overcooked or reheated food, and alcohol, all these ingredients harm and Injured the lining of your gut and this makes your immune system weaker. Such ingredients cause constipation, dehydration, smelly gas, and blotting. It creates a toxic environment inside the body, which makes it easier to get an infection from outside.

If you’ve recently taken antibiotics you need to help your gut with probiotics. Antibiotics wipe out all bacteria, including the good ones known as probiotics such as lactobacillus and bifidobacterium.

Prebiotics, like onions, garlic, and bananas, are dietary fibers that feed the good bacteria, which helps inoculate your microbiome.

  • Ayurvedic Herbs:

For Next let’s talk about herbs I do consider some herbs from Ayurveda which actually help you to keep your immunity strong at this pandemic times, here I will like to talk about Giloy and Ashwangadha both Giloy keep the immunity strong and Ashwangadha helps improving oxygen consumption, both the herb is important to take at this time.

Being active, doing a smart workout, or playing any game or sports has its own benefit, world’s best organization recommends 30 -40 mins of activity for at least 2 to 3 times a week can be optimal for good health and immune function.

  • Sleep:

At last, I would like to discuss the importance of sleep for healthy and optimal Hormone Balance and Recovery, 7 to 8 hrs of sleep is needed for good health wellness.

Conclusion:

Apart from these points, it is equally important to consume a well-balanced diet. We can’t dream about good health and immunity without a balanced diet which involves the right balance of Carbohydrates (Wheat, Rice, Lentils, Potatoes), Protein ( Sprouts, Soya, Chicken, Eggs, Fish), Fats (Dry Fruits, Avocado, Olive oil, Coconut Oil).
