Flat Foot, a common disorder

Flat foot is a common problem in most individuals today. It is a postural deformity in which the arches of the foot collapse with almost the entire sole of the foot coming in contact with the ground.
There is a functional relationship between the structure of the arch of the foot and the biomechanics of the lower leg. The arch provides an elastic, springy connection between the forefoot and the hind foot. This association safeguards so that a majority of the forces incurred during weight bearing of the foot can be dissipated before the force reaches the long bones of the leg and thigh. Flat foot can sometimes be a problem or hindrance as the alignment of the feet becomes uneven and it gets painful as your perform certain specific tasks like running etc. Although general population may not face as much issues with flat feet, individuals who are into weight training and activities like running face issues with this disorder. Therefore custom made soles prove helpful, they help maintain the feet alignment and also help overcome the arch issue.
