Chris Hemsworth best known for playing Superhero Thor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is an Australian actor and fitness inspiration for guys all over the world. His first Hollywood appearance was in the movie Star Trek (2009), but it was his role in the movie Thor (2011), that propelled him to prominence in the world. In 2014, Chris was voted the ‘Sexist Man Alive’ by People Magazine.

Chris generally likes to keep in shape, but when he is preparing to play Thor, he puts on around 20 pounds of muscle weight. His workouts during this muscle gain phase alternate between heavy weightlifting, bodybuilding, to lighter fitness and more resistance fitness.

Chris likes to start his day with a large green shake made up of 5-6 different types of leafy greens and vegetables, low-glycemic fruits, nuts, seeds, fats, and small amounts of sea salt to aid in electrolyte balance, nerve transmission, and glucose metabolism.

When it comes to building Muscle, Protein is the primary building block for connective tissue repair, overall strength, and positive size or shape of the muscle. Chris consumes a diet very high in protein and eats six small meals a day. Some of his daily food items include chicken breast, egg whites, steak, fish, vegetables, tuna, avocado, cottage cheese. His diet also focuses on the consumption of fibrous carbohydrates that are at the same time nutrient-dense food sources. These include spinach, broccoli, brown rice, etc.

Chris firmly believes that an adequate amount of sleep is desirable so the body can recover and restore torn muscles. Before bedtime, to help aid muscle recovery while helping the body become calm before going to bed, Chris takes a serving of BCAAs along with a magnesium/zinc supplement.
